Highly recommend this book for anyone considering to coach or develop their coaching skills to the next level;Very inspirational and presents numerous life lessons which have all played a part into "The Making of a Coach." The author speaks of how rewarding it is to be a coach; by helping others become the best that they can be as a player and in life itself. Lessons include the use of discipline, leadership, perseverance, positive attitude, good morals, values and ethics. This book reminds us all of the importance of giving back to others; despite the challenges and sacrifices made; it is in the end result, we see the difference we can make in others lives and how they can change our lives forever!

An excellent tribute to those who molded a truly remarkable husband, father, coach, friend and most of all son. The importance of how parenting develops the character and morals of the individual jumped from the page as I read about coach Kanalley and his journey through life in Western New York. Not only a must read for anyone involved in coaching but I dare say in restoring the integrity to a society that has in many ways lost its moral compass. I truthfully could not put the book down after I began to enjoy the wisdom woven throughout it's pages. Well done Pat, your mom and dad would be proud.

For anyone thinking about getting into coaching, currently in coaching or interested in youth sports and dynamics of amateur athletics, this is worth a read! My Dad set his mind to publishing this book, worked really hard on it, and he did an outstanding job! I'm so glad he's able to share what he's learned over the years in more than 35 years of coaching youth sports. I especially like the quotes in this book and the personal touch. Way to go, Dad!
