This is a very well researched book, which gives the reader a clear sense of time and place. It is more than a story- it is a tribute to one particular family- and also to the many families who suffered anguish and bereavement when they lost sons in World War 1. How many young men marched off to war with the words, "Don't worry, Mother, I'll be back"? We live in a world where the past is often viewed through the prism of political correctness. "To Honour" takes us into a world where ordinary people lived according to principles of duty, respect, loyalty to King and Country. Photographs and letters from family archives enhance the reality of the early twentieth century world. This is an heirloom to treasure.
