The previous generation of Pat’s family helped the Allies win World War II in the twentieth century by patrolling during blackouts and by building fighter planes. One cousin gave his life for our country from injuries sustained at the D-Day invasion.
A succeeding generation, Pat’s family of nine, traveled to France for a year of struggle to fit in and learn the language. Children recall their methods of coping with school with a French flavor.
