"To begin to recognize his presence in the world around you and in every moment of your day," he suggests, "is to begin to see the great value of every person and moment in your life. Noticing his presence will necessarily awaken in you a sense of mission that you cannot escape. Nor would you want to."

"BLACKBERRY PICKING" No, it has nothing to do with choosing a personal portable electronic communication instrument. It is an inspiring new book by Chicago preacher Patrick Odum. The title, Confessions of a Blackberry-Picker, comes from a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning in which she notes that signs of God's presence are everywhere. Some see, and remove their shoes, but most just go on picking blackberries. Odom has 33 short chapters that pull you in, make you better, then send you away determined to be more attentive to the "burning bushes."
