Four Monks Walk into a Pub is a book for both laymen and scholarly, an introduction to a few of the great world religions: Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism and Atheism. Patrick Sullivan takes on religious pluralism, or syncretism, and demonstrates its faultiness and inability to be a successful intellectual standpoint, in a respectful and genuine way. The book is based upon a fictional storyline, allowing the book to flow elegantly and harmoniously. In a unique way, the story unfolds the big questions of humanity, which furthers evident areas of disagreements between the worldviews, thereby exposing powerful evidence against religious pluralism. Short in length, the book nevertheless helps the reader understand the key concepts to important aspects of the religions presented in the book. An enjoyable and short read, Patrick Sullivan, by no surprise, has written a great book, provoking studying, researching, and lots of thinking. On a personal level, if one is interested in either...
