This short book is aimed at introducing the reader to the fascinating world of rotation and covers everything from bicycles, aircraft, metrology, gyroscopes, Newton’s gravity and orbits, as well as Einstein’s view on non inertial frames. Although these concepts are dealt with concisely, they do contain the relevant mathematics that is core to the understanding these powerful topics. Most of the explanation in the book is given in terms of full colour diagrams, which are based upon a PowerPoint presentation, together with additional notes that are relevant to each slide.
