"When the Chinaman Spoke" Dear Paul Briscoe, I enjoyed your book. Your story is fascinating. Not only was I interested due the D.C. period aspects. I have written about D.C. in the 50s & 60s (Hard Revolution) but you have really expanded upon that world. Nice work! I do feel the book could do with some editing and pruning, it's too long for the genuine public, though it kept my interest. You might also thinking about taking the skeleton of your story/life experiences and writing a a novel. Many crime novelists would kill to know what you know. Best regards George Pelecanos US crime writer and associate writer and producer of HBO's 'The Wire'
