Here's a man who has taken life by the shoulders, given it a big shake and said here I am and I'm not missing anything. What a fantastic ride he takes us on starting from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe during uncertain times to Australia during awakening times to Spain for fun times, Mexico, back to Zimbabwe and more. Paul keeps us interested and wanting more. What a life! Many of us would love to have experienced a small percentage of what he has been through. Can't wait for the next one!

Si Se Puede is Mexican for "Yes You Can" or, as I translate used by Mulligan, "Because you can". He justifies and interprets actions he takes in his youthful years to this phrase. It has moulded his life. The phrase might be compared to Nike - Just Do It! Mulligan was born in Rhodesia in 1970. The newly independent country was suffering a civil war uprising. He came to accept that being ‘at war’ was just normal life. As a result, he has lived with uncertainty and insecurity since birth compounded by parental divorce and stints at boarding schools. As an outcome of the fractured early life he built a powerful resilience and independence. He qualified as an engineer but searches for himself through travel and the arts – music, languages, painting and of course now writing. He loves anything Spanish. He marries a Mexican girl and writes sensitively about their separation. This book plays to your alter-ego. Who wouldn’t like a ten-year party to discover self? Mulligan... More > is a thrill-seeker who travelled, surfed and worked in part-time jobs around the world in exotic places, only earning enough money to take him forward to the next action charged experience. What a life style to have the bravery to just relax and let life evolve without plan or design. It invokes a trust too few of us have and therefore a life and experiences that only the Mulligan’s of this world enjoy. Yes, I have a touch of envy and a respect for the bravery of the man. His story has a bit of the cavalier “Hemingway” about it. He gives a hint that there will be another book, another tale to be told. It may be one that we have to await but it is one that I wish to read when it does come out for I feel I already know him well. A must read, strongly recommended. Dennis Harrison< Less
