Whispering Children © 2008 (Hardcover Edition) is a simple story about a belief in the future, as relevant now, as it was at the dawning of Mankind. It is a view of harmony between nations, seen through the eyes of children. Whilst it does depict the horrors of modern warfare and the implications of global warming, it is also a love story between a young Scottish soldier, wounded on a UN peacekeeping mission and a girl from childhood, with whom he meets by chance during a world summit in Scotland. Eight children symbolising all religions, who accompany their parents attending the summit, are sent to the Soldier’s ancestral home in the Scottish countryside. A British Army colonel, responsible for security, kidnaps the children in a ransom attempt to rock the summit. Brought together in this manner, the children end up causing a very different outcome. Whispering Children has been written for the enjoyment of all ages and all nations.

"Whispering Children Foreword" The Foreword to Whispering Children by The Venerable Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche I am very much a believer in the future: what happens in the future depends on how we bring up and educate our children. I hope that this book Whispering Children by Peter Minshall, will inspire the children of the world to take responsibility for bringing peace and harmony between nations and peoples. I also hope that they will understand that no faith or religion should need to protect itself through violence or war. According to my own faith, if each one of us is able to conquer our won inner demons such as anger and pride, then we will be able to accomplish our goal of inner and outer peace. I pray that those children fortunate enough to read this book will have tolerance towards all faiths and belief systems and will always show kindness towards the weak. May all forms of life experience fulfilment, joy and happiness! The Venerable Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche... More > Abbot and Retreat Master of Kagyu Samye Ling< Less
