A rogue wind storm called a “derecho” hit Springfield Massachusetts on August 2, 2006. Pondview Drive was one of the areas devastated with trees being uprooted along with downed utilities lines.
Photographs of the damages and clean up, which lasted for weeks, are shown. The National Weather Service Bulletin for the storm is included along with an explanation of a derecho.
