This book is a collection of Phil’s newspapers articles and blogs over the past two years (2008-2010) dealing with the stories that have been central to the Celtic family.
From the racist “Famine song”, the controversy of the Poppy on Celtic shirts through to the honest mistakes of match officials culminating in the explosive “Dallasgate” revelations.
It is the final story that has made Phil one of the best-known journalists writing on Celtic related matters. In this book Phil tells, for the first time, of how he broke that story.

An insightful book written in a very accessible style. What a joy to read a well researched and laid out piece of journalism that exposes the bile at the ehart of West of Scotland society. That not one 'mainstream' journalist has given these subjects this level of investigation is in itself an example of the racism and religious bias ion scotland. More power to yopur elbow Phil. Can't wait for the next chapter.
In the unique and strange world of Scottish Football journalism where spin and propeganda take priority over the reporting of facts, very few people are prepared to stick their neck out and report honestly on the very real and audiable problem of Anti-Irish racism which is, unfortunately, still very much thriving amongst a large social group in Scotland. Phil MacGiollabhain is one of the few people who have the audacity to address problems such as - the illegal, racist chanting in football stadia, aimed at young footballers who had the nerve to play for the country of thier choice (Ireland) and the seemingly acceptable anti-catholic sentiment within The Scottish Football Assosiation which is disregarded as mere 'banter'. An interesting read that highlights the un-willingness to accept that these problems exist and the trully shocking in-action by authorities to address these very real problems. The very fact that this journalist recieves no credit or mention for his work in the... By colin paterson Where to start? As an avid follower of phils blog I thought that this book may be repetitive and go over old ground. Nonetheless I felt I had to purchase it simply to show my support fir the sterling work Phil has done over the past years. To say that it was a good decision on my behalf would be an understatement on a grand scale. The book was a revelation. The factual content was incredible and at times shocking. The book flowed beautifully and was intelligently woven with previous blogs and current opinion/author overview. I can't stress enough that to simply go to phils website and read his previous articles is nowhere near sufficient to get the big picture. Phil was well on his way to being revered by a Celtic support continually derided as raving paranoiacs. However this book has surely cemented his place in the annals of our fine clubs history and given us fans some respite from the media onslaught against us of the past decades. The truth will out, and the new... More > media Phil is driving will soon leave the archaic and desperate Scottish media with no place to hide. Buy this book. You will not regret it. Hail hail< Less
A brilliant compilation of Phil's blogs and articles put together in the form of a book. Although some readers may not understand the complexity of the subject matter. You will be left in no doubt of the appaling racism and secterianism of the body that proports to represent the game of football in Scotland. Phil Mac Giolla Bhain has shown in this book all of the traits that make him one of the best investigative journalists in recent times, namely his tenacity, dilligence, attention to detail and above all his honesty. The fact that he achieved all of his scoops over the past few years is all the more remarkable when you consider the organisation he was investigating has a code akin to the Mafia's Omerta. As with the Mafia it is only broken by courageous people who whistleblow in order to allow the public the truth about how disgusting and corrupt these organisations have always been. All in all a compeling read and well worth the small price tag of which 10% goes to a worthwhile... More > charity.< Less
