Bernadette is a fearful young woman who has been sent to clean the local haunted mansion. As if she needs more trauma in her life, she encounters a hungry little girl - the mansion's resident vampire - who offers her a new job. Of course Bernadette should refuse, but Angela the Vampire shows more wisdom and respect than Bernadette has ever known. The cowardly maid is left to choose: an oppressive job and her distant dream of a family, or this mysterious underworld of polite vampires, werewolf families and pet tigers?
