pig’s head
On the outside of the cave of the beast is a fly-infested pig’s head. No matter what had happened with the economy there are others to blame. As long as you can make a beast you can hate the others. While narrating a story to yourself you have been telling yourself that the pig’s head was put on the outside of the cave to appease the beast. You start to tell a story about the use of the middle landscape and your birth within the story of that place. They started this time with the pigs head out in the middle of the field: as far as they could tell it was as good an ‘entry’ into an opening as any. It had been there most of the day and by the nighttime it had collected many black flies in the hot sun. It was covered actually. Toward the end of the day and into the early evening in the Iowa countryside they had collected a group of 49 women and given them 49 tee-shirts of 49 men to put on. The men hadn’t worn any cologne and the initial wash of the tee shirt was with unscented soap.
