Phillip is a master at subliminal imagery, his collection is written like that of memoirs but in beautiful poetic form. This is a must have.

There is no exaggeration, or inention of generating an excessive hype machine, in saying that Phillip's work has restored my faith in contemporary poetry. It speaks to your senses, your outlook on life, your own life, your philosophies, your principles and prejudices, and so many other aspects of what defines our existence, sometimes all in the same poem. It's heady stuff, but thoroughly entertaining at the same time, as you'll be called upon by your conscience and curiosity to return to poems time and again to discover new nuances and elements, like a puzzle with infinite possible solutions. Your moods and dispositions will unfurl the poems further, in unison with the different perspectives these states of mind bring. Phillip's poetry is, simply put, a literary soundtrack of the Human.

The writings of Phillip Matthew Roberts are a journey through the pain of lost innocence; remnants and gales of love and loss, his worldview when it comes to life, things he holds dear and those others he holds at arm’s length, in reflective disdain or wounded caution. In these verses, you will weep inconsolably; laugh hysterically, think of things you’ve never thought before; and be totally awed by the sublimity and genius-status quo talent this Poet possesses with such humble flair. Once you pick this book up, good luck in putting it down. It draws you in, it sucks you up, it consumes you in totality ~ it casts a spell. You no longer have control ~ you are at the whim and fancy of a writer powerful enough to not merely bring you along to join him in the storm, but to be the one who actually . . . created it. ~ Susan Joyner-Stumpf WILDFIRE PUBLICATIONS
