Apr 19, 2012I told Phina that I wouldn't make any comment until I've read the whole book......but being halfway through I felt obliged to give feedback ASAP. I had absolutely no idea whatsoever as to the enormity of sh*t and struggles you have been through. You're a strong woman yes, but some of the things I read about, you wouldn't even think that had happened to you because you have taken it and obviously used it as fuel to get where you want. You're an inspiration. I put a Facebook status up last night about hurdles in life and things I've been through which have led me to where I am today and it was brought on by how moved and empowered I was, by what I read. You're a warrior, honoured to know you and can't wait to finish the book :) Craig Cavanagh xx Craig Cavanagh Twitter: http://twitter.com/ItsMr_C Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/pages/OfficialCraigCavanaghMusic/106596406131323 Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/cac1985
Apr 6, 2012I read this book in one sitting! What a remarkable woman you are Phina, Your insight and story is unfounded and astounding. I figured of some of the stuff when I met you, but some of it I never would have guessed. You truly are phenomenal. You make me want to achieve more. You seem to relish in your husband and child, which is normal and lovely and its what you want to read about, but you miss this about your work life. You can see the value is God, and family which is lovely. But your work experiences are heartbreaking and educational, young black women need to know how tough it is. And no one is telling them!!! Your book is a guide a cautionary tale almost, but with the Scouse realness. I love it and you make me want to experience more, but with a new learned self, which you have acquired. from Dominique Walker via text published with her permission By donna ohana ganzoni 02-Apr-2012 I brought Phina's book with me on a gf-wine tasting weeekend getaway and so far it has me laughing... More > my butt off and crying my eyes out! She is a riot, a survivor, fabulous and blessed! I really like autobiographies .... this one I love b/c it speaks so clearly of hope and what/where having hope can get you, even when the odds are stacked against you!< Less
