If you are a female baby boomer coming of age in the south this book is about you. Phyllis is all of us tasting the freedoms our mother's never knew but yearned for. Her honesty is striking and makes sense of a time gone by when we were all trying to figure out who we were and how it has transformed our personalities and dreams. It's an accurate account of discovering New York, Europe, and the working world It's the joy of becoming a mother and a wife and an Aunt. It's the devastating reality of cancer has on your body and the courage and triumph through it. I felt like I was reading a Texas version of Fannie Flag... Fried Green Tomatoes or Steel Magnolias..... It was magnificent!!!:)))))
