If even half of this is true, it's a reason for all of us to be a little scared. I loved this book, but it also frightened me. It's a great conspiracy thriller--even though I wanted to throttle Preston around the neck for so casually disregarding the Constitution--I was glued to every page. I think any reader would get caught up in the plot, no matter their political affiliation. My in-laws in Costa Rica keep asking me if I think this novel is based on fact. Well, after checking out the fan page on Facebook, I hate to say it, but it looks like it is. I've recommended this novel to my neighborhood book club. I hope it catches on with the American public soon because I am dying to talk about it!!!! For now, I know it's getting some international buzz--my Costa Rican friends and relatives have started passing it around.

I'm not that into politics, but my mom gave me this book. She said if this didn't motivate me to get involved, nothing would. She was right. So much of what happens in it seems to really be happening. Scary. Very scary. I'm away from home right now, but I'll be voting this November. I know that's not much "involvement", but I probably wouldn't have made the effort to get an absentee ballot if I hadn't read the book.

By jgnky If you liked Glenn Beck’s "The Overton Window" you will surely like "Exit America." The two have much in common: they are novels (let’s emphasize: works of fiction), are well written, have absorbing plots and convincingly developed characters, and have obvious connections to current political events. The blurb here does a disservice to the plot, I think: yes, the birth certificate plays a central role, but it is far from the only significant aspect of the portrayal of this (fictional) president. If you haven’t read "The Overton Window," read it—along with "Exit America."

Great read. Creepy how close it is to reality, though. I have friends who have their heads in the sand about what's happening in this country. I'm hoping this book will give them a clue. It's fiction, but it's obviously related to current events. Reads like a thriller.
