Love in the Valley of Death is a work of historical fact, based on letters penned by John (Jack) Jensen, serving in the Australian Infantry Forces (AIF) during World War 1 to his Aunt Hannah in South Australia and his girlfriend Florence Campbell, Sydney, Australia. Jack served at Gallipoli and across the Western Front with his brother Will Jensen and Florence's brother Sydney Campbell. His return home after the war, like many comrades, was another almost bigger battle with PTSD.
