Fighting wars of life and of love, Poppy Ruth Silver takes us on a poetic journey into the darkest part of our psyche and the struggle to get to the light. She often uses "red" in her poems...that color of passion, but also of the blood of wars and often the blood of the heart that fights the wars of love. In her poem "Feathered" she speaks of "the feathered touch/ That awakens raw emotion/ The simplest of touches/ Yet the most powerful." This book contains poems that touch that emotion and are most powerful. An Excellent read. jacob erin-cilberto (author of Demolitions and Reconstructions)

"Soon To Melt" by Poppy Ruth Silver/ The part of the journey in this collection of poems is often searing, often wrenching and always poignant. The micro and macro views spotlighted and clipped to present, leave you no doubt as to the intense feeling injected whole into each piece. If you seek truth in this world, here is a small piece of it.

"Melt" has both melted and stirred my soul... the powerful lyric flow moves through me magic. Bravo... Modern poetry at it's most tangible.

“Soon to Melt” by Poppy Silver (Lulu Independent Publishing Platform, June 1, 2013) is the prodigious work of the modern Renaissance artist, Poppy Ruth Silver. Lead singer of the band, ‘Orbitally Re-Arranged Monotomic Elements’, promoter, artist, photographer, author, and poet; Miss Silver’s passionate and hypnotic collection will soon have you melting within the pages of her prose. Her unique voice transforms everyday vernacular into haunting emotion and imagery. “Disfigured Presence” gave me goose bumps. I must have read that poem a dozen times and the metaphors maintained that influential effect on me every time. Her words are as delicate and as sharp as her name. The authority of emotion distinct within her tone; the intricacy of images paints an elaborate representation of the inner workings of the soul. Provocative in thought and invoking emotive response, Silver’s breathtaking debut collection has me waiting, rather impatiently, for an encore.

An absolutely epic masterpiece. Think Sylvia Plath, think Anne Sexton... with more drive, someone who's sticking two fingers up to the fascist dictators that tell us how to think and live our lives under a near apocalyptic orwellian state. Never has a newly published author shown such exciting promise. I say... "More please!" Highly recommended!
