This was an amazing experiment. A novel written in stories by 33 authors under Matt Potter's gentle guidance. It's a miracle that the project was completed, much less a success. It's not without flaws-my main problem is that there are a few too many tangential threads through the middle of the book, which dilutes the sense of plot escalation-but all in all it's a very good read. Some absolute gems sprinkled throughout, and the final few stories not only tie things up, but leave me oohing and ahing. Recommended, particularly if you appreciate a bold experiment in narrative and variety of perspective. (Full disclosure: I have two stories in this collection, but they're minor in the scheme of things, and I would recommend the book even without them).
