"Thoughts before the Dawn" is the debut anthology of one of Belfast’s most original writers.
R E Smyth is one of those very special people who were born on a Christmas Day. This theme of birth on a very special day continues to inspire Smyth’s writing and has also been a major factor in the exploration of the many personal and spiritual themes which occur in many of Smyth’s most popular pieces. Originally published for limited private and personal distribution, this short, introductory anthology is now being made available to a wider readership.
A key aspect of Smyth’s philosophy is to encourage readers to “read the works aloud.”
“This, for me,” says Smyth, “ is an important part of the whole poetry experience.”
“Too often, poetry does not resonate fully throughout the reader’s body and soul. Reading pieces aloud is a vital part of enjoying the written word. Try it and see!”
