Reading this book was an emotional experience. It is the heart-wrenching story of Rachelle Rose and her struggle with Chiari brain malformation, a rare congenital brain disorder. But through most of her story, her condition was undiagnosed and as she suffered one bizarre and painful symptom after another, she did not know what was happening. I'm her dad and I cried through much of the book. You could say I had a special interest. Just when one disastrous life circumstance seems handled, another disaster, and another... I would have given up way less than halfway through. This book fills a special niche and I think has a special purpose, helping other undiagnosed Chiari malformation sufferers to discover the cause of the physical and mental torture they experience, get diagnosed and have the reparative surgery they desperately need. Just a few of the listed Chiari malformation symptoms include, dizziness, fainting, headaches, uncontrolled shaking or trembling, but you'll find out in... More > this book there are many more unlisted and horrible effects of Chiari malformation that ruin a person's life. If you know someone who has had these symptoms plus bizarre unexplainable ones, point them to this book. I am proud of my daughter's book, and I am awestruck by her courage. And, despite the difficulty of the topic, The Truth About Me is a fascinating story and a damn good read!< Less
