Paperback, 240 Pages

A shamelessly embarrassing story -- and hysterical how-to-manual -- of one woman's journey through obsessive thinking to the freedom of self-acceptance. Full of quick witted clever, Shire laughs her way through catastrophic misfortunes to help her fellow Love Slobs learn how to simply "get over it." Shire uses life experience and sociological truth to unwind the mind of both the Love Slob and the unavailable man. As she repeatedly tried them on like a favorite pair of shrunken jeans, these men simply won't fit. Find out why seemingly independent and skillful women behave so insanely in relationships, and what goes through the minds of men who choose them.

Jan 25, 2010I picked this up at a doctor's office in scottsdale. Very funny. Interestingly, even though takes a female point of view, I noticed myself relating in the reverse role. Would reccomend for a light hearted man/woman read that isn't intimidating for men. Easier to read about someone else than trying to follow another "relationship advice" book.
Sep 29, 2009"So true and so funny!" I LOVED this book! I was totally waiting to find my name pop out of one of the pages! Not only am I a love slob, but all my friends are totally love slobs. I have lent this book out to three of my girl friends, and we are seriously dating the same guy with different skin-on. Where was this when I was in college?
Jul 9, 2009"funny, tragic, scary...." While reading the love slob I got to feel the full range of my human emotions. I found myself laughing out loud while reliving some of my personal relationship history. The uncomfortable feeling of "the truth" slowing turning into the guilt and shame of past mistakes.... Rachelle's story hits home the lessons we learn growing into, and through relationships with the opposite sex. Her frank, objective discussion of such taboo topics as abortion are unique and refreshing. Addressing manipulation and control in romance, Rachelle leaves no stone unturned. She shows how the consequences of our actions in relationships go deep into every aspect of our lives. Crude humor combined with subtle and uncomfortable truth about ourselves make this book worth reading.
May 19, 2009"Truth in every Chapter." The last 4 chapters in the book were fantastic. Earlier in the book I loved titles like Mr. Lucky and Mr. Guess Jeans. The Cindy boobs chapter was hilarious! I was awed by the intelligence and loved the title 'Therapy is so underrated' and boy do I ever agree with the title and the good that these Einsteins can do for us. The "Who's your Daddy" title was so cool and the content in this chapter was just the best. I love analyzing in-depth family history and boy do you do it well!! I'm sure you'll right another. Thank you for all your honesty; I know God will bless you for it!
Apr 20, 2009"Bare-ass hilarious!" A wonderfully sick comic masterpiece of the new-age genre. Brilliantly demented riffs that beg to be read.
