Leila Ahmed’s experiences are presented clearly, simply, and without any kind of prejudice. She speaks through heart and there is nothing in her writing which shows that she is biased to one particular idea. It comes to light that she is endeavouring to give to the world the reality of the conflicting cultures and the two strands of Islam which baffle and confound the rest of the world. She wants that the values of a culture can never be accessed through the written text. She firmly believes that the oral tradition is equally important. Leila Ahmed is the voice of the Muslim women, though there are numerous fundamentalists in the world and they continue to criticize her openly, trying to retain their dominance over women forever.
