The motorcycles were imported into the USA between 1964 and 1967 when the manufacturer, the Lilac Motorcycle Company, went out of business due to competition from Honda, Yamaha and others. Fewer than 1000 of these motorcycles were produced but a large percentage of them have survived and the Marusho/Lilac community is as active as ever.
