Riding the Big Blue Bus

A couple of years ago I came across a diary I kept during my two years in İzmir, Türkiye. The entries are cryptic; however, each entry in that diary brings a flood of memories about a very influential time of my life. In these few pages are anecdotes about my time in Türkiye from 1966-1968. Every story has three sides. There is the one side, then there is the other side, and, somewhere in between those two sides is the actual truth. I've tried, very hard, to make this little book as factual as I could. I used the diary, did extensive research, and conducted some interviews with former classmates. Earlier this year I made a trip back to the old stomping grounds. From all of this, the memories flowed like water over weathered rocks. In these pages you will find my side of the story.
