There Are Places I’ll Remember catalogues the famous and the less well-known venues around Merseyside, where The Beatles performed throughout the early days of their phenomenal career. These, sometimes small and obscure, village halls and social clubs are the places that help mould The Beatles unique performing style in the early 1960s and make up such a large part of the Beatles story. Many of the original buildings are still operating or have been converted into other businesses, although a number of the old concert halls and ballrooms haven’t survived the changing times, falling victim to redevelopment. Beatles historian, Ray O’Brien has scoured Liverpool, Wirral and Merseyside to find and photograph these historic locations for inclusion in this book. He has also included archival photographs and copies of ticket stubs, adverts and posters. An absolute treat for all Beatles fans.
