Jul 18, 2014This workbook gives simple, clear, easy to understand instructions on how to train your dog. You will also learn how your dog thinks and what you can do to get the best out of him using force free methods that WORK! Definitely a must buy book!
Jan 25, 2013Training your dog can be easy and rewarding, or one of the most frustrating things you can do. I have read countless dog training books that are either too heavy or too light, too harsh or too soft, too detailed, or not detailed enough. They generally present the same basic information, but in different ways, or using different methods. It can get very confusing to know what techniques will work for you and your dog, and you can waste a lot of time and money looking for that magic silver bullet that will make your dog the angel you always dreamed that they would be. I found Renea's new book to fall right in the middle. Utilizing sound techniques she leads you and your dog down a path that will take you step by step through the maze of training methods straight to the ones that work. She describes the fundamentals in a way that make sense without being too confusing or overly wordy. She presents lessons in a logical order where things learned build up to things to be learned. She... More > doesn't skip any important steps, but doesn't bore you with unnecessary details. Renea also has a delightful way of using humor to get her points across. Whether you have read every other book out there, or you are looking for your first dog training book, I highly recommend this one. I have been training and working with dogs for most of my life, and I learned a lot about my own bad habits and poor training technique from this book. She uses novel methods to get you and your dog on a path to success quickly and without a lot of fuss even if you think you know everything there is to know about dog training, you will find something novel in here that will iron out wrinkles in your technique that you didn't realize were there. This book will have you and your dog on track to "happily ever after" in short order. If rating systems were based on cuts of pork, Renea would be the bacon of the dog training world.< Less
