Book Two in The Nord Chronicles
In book one, Eric of Nord survived his quest to save his adopted land and thought he was prepared to handle any situation, but he was wrong. In The Lord of Sommonee, he will be tested to the point of breaking and beyond. The arrival of a group of colonists from Earth will set off a series of events that will force Eric to face his greatest enemy, himself. That battle will lead him to the edge of destruction and only through an encounter with a dead brother will he be able to finally overcome his personal demons. In book two, Eric continues on his journey to become the “First” of Carna and discovers that he is destined to complete a plan forged more than three thousand years before by the first, “First Ones”.
"A great sequel" The Lord of Sommonee is a great sequel to The Nord Chronicles, The Edge of Destiny. Rex Horne has done it again with a story that lives. The story is darker but seems to reach a level of realism that few story can today. I would rank this as one of the best SciFi works in the last 10 years. I hope there's more.
"The Lord of Sommonee is worth the read" I enjoyed Rex Horne's Edge of Destiny and as I wrote in that review found it to be ERB-like. The author has shown that he can take the story to a higher level. I found myself not willing to put it down and when Eric met Robert, it was electrifying. The part where he returned to Nord can't help but be felt by the reader. A-number-1
