This book is brilliant and I wish I had known about it sooner. I love the Brontes, I live in Yorkshire and enjoy walks with historical meaning. I recently completed the Bridlington walk from this book and I felt I was walking in Charlotte's footsteps. To think that she had never seen the sea until she was 23 in 1839. There were no photographs then, but I took plenty on the walk which are on my blog 'Random Walks in a Skirt'. I would have liked to have walked in the same clothes as Charlotte to soak up the atmosphere. To think also that Charlotte and friend Ellen Nussey followed the Gypsey Race to the sea, I would have loved to have seen their faces! This book is so well researched and written with such attention to detail that you cannot lose the trail. The Brontes didn't get out much but to have all their Yorkshire visits recorded in one book is a real pleasure.
