"Tracy King Book Review Weekly " Told through the eyes of twelve-year-old Robbie Donner this tale strongly echoes the childhood-elegies of King and Ray Bradbury and is every bit their equal: a cornucopia of bittersweet fantasy storytelling .... The mystery of the killer who is stalking the small-townsfolk grows in intensity until it explodes in a ratcheting and jarring melodramatic climax, which is more than enough to tantalize even the most demanding thriller and mystery fan.

"THE KING LIVES ... SOLID STORYTELLING" At first I thought, okay what gives ... where's Elvis; but by the time he appeared, I really didn't care. I was that wrapped up in the story, the characters and trying to figure out who done it. The kid's dialogue works, the clues bounce around like billard balls, leading you down rabbit wholes in the corner pocket, only to pop up on another table, with a whole new set of suspects. Didn't see this one comming at all.

"GRAT SUSPENSE ... GREAT HEROINE--TOO! " It was refreshing to have a strong female lead for a change. The girl of Robbie’s dreams, Debbie, is not only credible but intelligent and resourceful: she matches her wits against the best of them. Her character grows in a steady rhythm and pace with the story, building to a peak at the climax. While this maybe written from the point of view of a young boy, the voice and mindset of the young girl was spot on. Her relationship with the main character enhanced the overall storyline. Enjoyable reading.

"Barbie Dolls, My first date, My first kiss & ELVIS!! " This was a surprisingly fun read. I got swept up in the plot and the characters from the first chapter. I was way off base in my guess as to who the killer was. It took me back to childhood: Barbie Dolls, soda jerks, and my first date. Elvis was dreamy and blended in well. Lots of rock-em sock-em action sprinkled with a few tender moments. Would make a great movie.
