    There must be millions of people over the country whose ancestors lived in Grayson County. Part of Montgomery County became Wythe County then part of Wythe became Grayson County then part of Grayson County became Carroll County. After Richmond and Northern Neck areas were settled, people moved to new land in places like Bedford County then to what became Grayson. The county seat of Grayson is Independence. The Grayson Heritage members and volunteers research and write for the journals. Each journal is made up of names, stories, and the heritage of the people who created and grew Grayson County. Some moved on. Some stayed for generations.
