This is a fine début from an up and coming author who displays a perceptive insight into the moronic celebrity culture that has unfortunately seeped into the bovine psyche of modern Britain. I agree with Mr Baker that Noel Edmonds is in fact the spawn of the devil - perhaps the most talentless and obnoxious buffoon walking on planet earth today. His assessment of Davina Macall as the female equivalent to Edmonds, i.e. spewing constant and meaningless drivel is spot on. In completing his triumvirate of boorish celebrities, he identifies Graham Norton as the feeble presenter who is about as funny as a dose of genital crabs! As Baker points out what they have in common is the ability to deliver relentless verbal diarrhoea ad nauseam. There are a number of omissions in Bakers book, for example the Ant and Dec dwarfs, whose apparent singular talent is to snigger behind a trivial barrage of nothingness. Baker is clearly a talented author, although trawling through parts of the book... More > is a bit like having your teeth pulled by a Dentist and his narrative can be somewhat clumsy - not unlike being on the receiving end of a brutal challenge from behind in a semi-competitive five-a-side game! Having said this, I truly believe that Richard Baker's trilogy will in five-to-ten years time take its rightful place as a classic in the history of English literature. As for Baker himself, his literary take on life will surely be discussed and debated into the early hours by literary students and scholars alike. This book and its author are destined to be read, critiqued and ultimately revered along with masters such as Shakespeare, Tolkien, Dickens and Bartlett!< Less
