Eager to inject some humour into the series, producer Innes Lloyd called upon experienced scriptwriter, Dick Sharples, to come up with a story that would inject a lighter tone into Doctor Who. That adventure was 'The Prison in Space', originally envisioned to write out the character of Jamie and introduce a new companion called Nik - and it’s a story that was a hair’s-breadth away from being made.
Gathered together for the first time, this Nothing at the End of the Lane scriptbook contains Dick Sharples’ original storyline and his redrafted scripts for this missing 1968 story along with a look at the background to its creation. This volume also features reviews of the story, a special edition of DWM’s original Time Team and an overview of Patrick Troughton’s turbulent final series as the Doctor.
Also included is a unique look at Brian Hayles’ original storylines for the abandoned Ice Warrior adventure that would have originally followed The Prison... More > in Space - 'The Lords of the Red Planet'.< Less
