Best new children's author of the year. Witty, poignant, wonderful story written brilliantly. Marvelous illustrations. Move over Dr. Seuss!!

My nine-year old grandson is an avid fisherman. "How I Wish I Could Fish" was on my desk waiting to be wrapped for his birthday. He couldn't resist reading anything with the word "fish" and loved this book - even unwrapped! He put it in his backpack so he could read it over and over again at home. (Great rhymes and illustrations!)

Delicious rhyme and fantastic, imaginative creatures make this a delightful book for children and adults. As an educator I think this book could be a wonderful tool for writing, art, and drama activities. It's just really fun to read, too.

This book is absolutely delightful. Children love stories that rhyme, and adults will have great fun reading aloud and perhaps relating to a "stubborn fish called a Wanteyewanit." And, "the Tantrumustossit"! The illustrations are beautiful and bring this enchanting story to life. A beautiful book with a great message that is sure to become a family favorite.

Like any good book for children, if adults don’t like it, forget it! I loved it! I started out miffed at the father, became impressed by Josh’s ever-expanding fantasy, and ended up entirely satisfied. Dad is OK; life is good; the future is bright. The Dr. Seuss-like rhyming is wonderful and the fantasy if fabulous. I read it a second time.
