Mary and the Acting Person: An Anthropology of Participatory Redemption in the Personalism of Karol Wojtyla/Pope John Paul II

ByRichard Bulzacchelli

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book is a publication of Richard H. Bulzacchelli's doctoral dissertation. In it, he offers an analysis if the relationship between Pope John Paul II's philosophical anthropology and his thinking about the Virgin Mary. Bulzacchelli argues that Mary represents the exemplary "acting person", and that, precisely in conjunction with her perfect redemption (Immaculate Conception) and her "fiat" at the Annunciation, which open up an arena of perfect and active participation in God's salvific work. To provide context for this argument, Bulzacchelli offers an extensive exposition of the philosophical perspective advanced by Karol Wojtyla/Pope John Paul II in his dialogue with Immanuel Kant, Max Scheler, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
