So down to earth on the way it was.... I read it slowly and savor the my feelings and memories. Reminds of stuff that was way in the back of my brain and shakes the cob webs off! Can not read too much at one time.... The dreams will sneak in at night... God Bless you brother Boon.....

Submitted to me by a friend who read my book..... My copy of The NAM by Rich Boon Preston arrived yesterday. I opened it and immediately began to read it. I could not put it down! The book is so very well written that I felt I was sharing the experiences with Boon. I lost my uncle, Lt. Fred Omar Pratt to the Vietnam War. One body many parts, my uncle chewed the same mud as Boon. The NAM, shines light on individuals who went through that war. What it was like first person, then and into now. It has been a forgotten war, and those who gave their all should not have been over looked. They never received a much deserved welcome home - let me say that I am thankful to all. To you Boon, my friend and brother in Christ - I salute you sir!

Boon’s book is not shocking, but it does dare the reader to take time to understand the reality of war. Nor is it an in-your-face challenge to the sensibilities of the meek, but it is a reminder that even war-tested veterans are human and are subject to the penalties of that humanity. His is a real story of and by a real person… a US Marine who was superbly trained for war, but who experienced nothing like that for which he was trained. Highly recommended: a unique record of the thoughts, recollections and reality of war and its consequences!
