101 Ways To Grow Old Disgracefully

ByRichard de Meath

Growing old today is not the same as it was in our grandparents day. Instead of growing old gracefully it appears we now are reluctant to give in. No matter what title we give to the age we are, we are undoubtedly aware that inside the deepest core of our being there is hiding a mischievous younger man or woman who is desperate to get free. This is the real ‘me’ the one who still wants to go out and play and continue enjoying the game of life and raising hell. The joy of growing old means that more and more people have bought into the opinion that age is simply a state of mind. In this ever increasingly crowded world, we see grandparents surfing the internet. The greatest surprise of all is that an increasing number of grown-up children unwilling to leave home. They find the world is not what they expected and many return to the comforts and security they miss. To everyone’s relief, growing old is no longer something to be feared, when the intention is to grow old - as disgracefully as possible.
