You either believe in happiness - or you don’t. There is no middle way, no possibility of thinking one thing and saying another.
There are many people who swear that what happens to them, whether it is for good or ill, is caused by fate. They will dismiss any argument to the contrary, telling you in precise terms why luck plays such a huge role in their life and how it would lose much of its attraction if they did not have a little bit of luck to help them along.
I feel confident the stories in this book are not only appealing, but quite possibly will encourage you to think along more positive lines.
In the final analysis, when writing about the existence of luck, it generally comes down to your personal belief. Happiness is a state of mind just as much as it is a state of being.
