The journey begins in Tijuana Mexico with Nomad Wyman, a man with a violent and turbulent past, in his preparation for a road trip towards Western Canada to get re-acquainted for the first time in 23 years with his first teenage love, Maeve. With over 2 decades of complete absence between them, Nomad’s primary concern is how to tell his first love about everything that transpired in between, and will she accept him for who he is and all he’s done. It is the closing off of one avenue and the prospect of greener pastures with an old flame. It becomes a time to reflect. He lays his life bare. His extremely violent past, his insecurities, his sexual adventures and misadventures, his guilt, his hopes, the things that draw him, yet disturb him at the same time. We are introduced to a whirlwind of encounters, laced with numerous philosophical musings, which are generally flawless when stood up to scrutiny.

Loved the main character ! Over all great book. Loved the darck humor and the detailed description that makes you feel your not reading yet seeing the events. Also realistic in its fiction. Recommended to all.

What a wonderful read. I personally was hooked from the start, as I felt I could empathize with the (Anti) hero of this story. To me it is an incredible story of love and the search for it in the midst of a chaotic yet somewhat calculated life adventure. The hero takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions as he navigates his way through personal demons, high stakes decisions and of course the search for love. Extremely well written, I felt I was reading the diary of the character himself as opposed to just amother story. Whilst its a love story at heart, there was just the right amount of violence and action to keep me entertained until the end. Highly recommended

The Tangent Redemptions of an Anti Hero is, in my humble opinion, a great book. I must admit that I was very curious when I bought it. I have some of Richard Dimitris other products and I like him and respect him a lot. But to write a book of fiction is usually a different thing. I was wondering if he would be able to pull it of. Now that I have read it I can relax. He did a great job with this book. I think that the way he writes makes it very hard to put the book down once you´ve started to read. I like the fact that it´s very detailed in some areas and it helped me to really see the situation in front of me. As a person who is really into self defence I liked the description of the fighting. It is realistic and the way Dimitri describes the fights, makes you almost feel the blows. Through the whole book there is also a sense of homour that I appreciate. It´s a very good book and I really recommend it to everyone who wants to have great read with a good bit of... More > violence, a wicked sense of humour but allso with a good description of a "fairly complex" main character.< Less

This is an autobiography from the point of view of the hero of the book,he describes himself as an anti hero but you get the feeling that deep inside is a caring person who hides behind the tough guy persona and once you get inside you've made a friend for life who will be there to sort shit out no matter what. The the book builds a picture of our hero and his time spent In Mexico, his decision to head back to Canada and his life when he gets there. Reading it you can't help but wonder just where his moral compass sits, by the end of the book it's quite clear where it is but you need to read it to find out for yourself. Early on we are introduced to the woman he loves but can't be with long term as they are both too similar and on the same path of self destruction. All through we are treated to new adventures and experiences and Richard Dimitri explains them in such detail you just need to close your eyes and you are there living and breathing with our hero. All through the book he... More > meets and either gets on with or despises several different characters. My particular favourite is the self proclaimed genius and kick-boxing instructor, who probably needed help tying his laces but believed his own press so much he more than likely believes he invented kick-boxing? There's more to this book than the reader will get out of reading it once, I've read it twice and it has gotten better on the second read than it was the first time. The author in my opinion is charging half of what he should for what is a thoroughly entertaining, amusing, funny and disturbing read. I could write a lot more about this book but my amateur ramblings don't do it any justice, as a wise man told me "Buy the book, you won't be disappointed" I dare you to buy the book and be disapppointed, personally I don't think that's possible.< Less
