This illustrated collection of Greeman's Radical Rants and Internationalist Essays is a frontal attack on capitalism by a veteran socialist, scholar and activist. Greeman's satirical studies, which range from the Rebellious Sixties to our Decadent Decade, deal with globalized capitalism's crisis, revolutionary history and future prospects for a new society. Some titles: "The Rolling Revolutions of 2011," "Capitalism's Terminal Crisis?" "Where Are the Riots of Yesteryear?" "The Invisible International," "Deconstructing the 'Threat' of Radical Islam," "Religion and Repression in the U.S. (a Case of Political Pathology)" "Back in the U.S.S.R." "Victor Serge" and "Ecotopia: A Bet You Can't Refuse."

Richard Greeman's Beware of "Vegetarian" Sharks" is a highly informative and entertaining discussion of contemporary social and political issues. It is written clearly and with such enthusiasm that it reads like a novel. This is not surprising because, far from being a dry treatise, it is bascially an inspired memoir. Greeman's life of commitment and activism is stimulating. More importantly, his book is instructional in the very best way. I recommend it especially to intelligent, young people striving to gain perspective on life and values.
"Dangerous Greemans" “Dangerous Shortcuts and Vegetarian Sharks” is the blueprint for understanding how Imperialism has worked and the explanation for why it has persistently failed. In “Shortcuts” Mr. Greeman exposes the singular logic of Empire throughout its history and various loci, while giving readers the sense that we are all witness to the inevitable emergence of a new human consciousness-- one that is destined to be a resounding ‘NO!’ to the question of Empire. “Shortcuts” is a clear and concise Q & A on the subject of human freedom in the 21st Century; recommended reading alongside Mr. Greeman’s earlier ‘how-to’ collection of essays in “The Revolutionary Kit: or, how to build your own Invisible International”. Exposing the fallacies of our past is essential as we proceed into our future, and Mr. Greeman has given us the critical lens we need in order to honestly move ahead. Mr. Greeman’s ideas are indeed dangerous because they threaten to refocus our attention... More > on the real inner workings of Imperialist machines.< Less
