This LDS book begins with a metaphor about the River of Life and a young man's quest to reach the Fountain Head or Eternal Life. Reaching the Fountain Head requires achieving perfection, both in becoming perfect "in Christ" and in becoming perfect "like Christ". The first type of perfection, becoming perfect "in Christ", requires putting off the natural man, having faith, repenting, being baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, followed by enduring to the end. The second type of perfection, becoming perfect "like Christ", requires putting on the "man of Christ", growing precept on precept, grace for grace, until eventually becoming "like Christ", or Christlike in all the Savior's perfect attributes.
