Searching For Henri is a dramatic fictional rendering of the lost years of Henri Dunant, the founder of the International Red Cross, author of the first Geneva Conventions and the first person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1901. Dunant then dedicated many years of his life to establishing the foundations of the Red Cross organization, founded upon the principles of neutrality and humanity for all who served under its flag. His steadfast dedication and the success of the Red Cross, however, lead to Dunant having ignored his business interests and in 1875 he founded himself bankrupt. For the next twenty years of his life, Dunant was poor and destitute – ironic for the founder of the organization dedicated to helping such people – wandering the streets of Paris and sleeping under the bridges spanning the Seine. Searching For Henri is about those 20 lost years and the “discovery” of Dunant by a curious and equally steadfast journalist
