And I'm Feeling Like a ________ .
Paperback, 68 Pages

For the first time available to the public, And I'm Feeling Like a______ contains all the lyrics of the numbers recorded by the reclusive Rick Cleveringa during the past three years at the now-notorious McMurdo Sound Studio in Crete, Illinois. Fans and musicologists alike will appreciate having access to the complete texts of "Trouble in the Doniker," "No Man's Land," "Muscadine," "The Bear Inside Me," and thirty others. Sometimes haunting, sometimes lyrical, occasionally twisted, and often gleefully bizarre, Cleveringa's songs draw on a vast body of lore ranging from carnivorous snowmen to broken girls, from French fur trappers to monkeys in their u--------s. Several photographs are interspersed throughout the book, mostly depicting Cleveringa in questionable situations. All proceeds from this book are being collected in a fund held in trust for Cleveringa or his designees in the event that he is located.

Sep 6, 2009"The book consists of a physical presence sustaining textuality" It seems to me that what Cleveringa has sought to create in this scriptive undertaking, or rather more accurately, what sentiments have succeeded in being asserted through the medium of the provisionally nonfictive entity understood to be the "author," himself comprising for the reader no more than the lisible semblance of a unified identity only through the aggregate of his utterances which are themselves the declarations of an absolute exteriority of writing while describing the interiority of principle of composition to language constituted by the living presence (paradoxically), is, in fact, a book. And Sacré Bleu, some of these verses really stick something in your crawl, too.
Oct 1, 2007"And I am feeling like an unseen daylight shooting star" It is about time that someone finally had the wherewithal to get the reclusive Rick Cleveringa to compile his songs into a book. I heard him perform in northern Illinois several years ago and it was spellbinding. The day hasn't gone by where I haven't listened to his music or at least had one of his songs going through my head. He says that he is better remembered than known. Maybe. But once known, he's never forgotten.
Apr 15, 2007"And I feelin like a ...." I would like to thank this artist, for all the wonderful insight into his life. His uncanny ability to capture the details of life and breath are wonderfully poetic. It is as if I am reading piece of my own life, which is sometimes comforting and sometime spooky. He seems to have a true gift for finding the profound in the day to day things that go unnoticed. The chilling accounts in Trouble in the donniker are so vividly painted that I feel as I were there, and associate them to my own life. A true unfound genius, pure art in words. Thank you, Capt Lester Orchitis
Feb 15, 2007"Rocks! " Next best thing to listening to Cleveringa is reading Cleveringa. Especially if you already know how the songs go then you kind of hear them in your head. I used to have a bunch of his lyrics hand copied down from his CDs but SOMEONE in my house found them and threw them away. It's also interesting to read what Cleveringa was really saying after all this time compared to what I thought he was saying. The description of the kite in SNOWMAN is much weirder than I realized for example.
Dec 22, 2006"Oh my Gawhd!!!!" I have been a B.I.G. fan of Rick's since I was little. I mean that is a whole 16 years. I just got my drivers license and I couldn't wait to get a CD player instead of that old 8 track my dad had in the station wagon. I seen all of the vhs and beta tapes of his shows with that "joan toast" group. I still think he should've been the lead and not that Keith guy.I even found a guy on eBay who has pictures from Rick's high school daze.(i didn't know they had cameras back then)I feel like it's christmas. I am going to the ink guy and ask him to tatoo the picture from the cover of the book on my ass.Although I think I might skip his last name, my ass isn't that big. Anywho, every one needs to buy this book and his cd. I am writin it all over every girls bathroom I go into.
