Periodically in any profession, there comes a work destined for the bookshelf of every serious participant in the industry. It has been decades since such a book has spoken directly to the airline interviewee, and the business of landing a top-tier airline job has changed irreparably since then. "How to Land a Top Paying Airline Job" is the new benchmark. Mr. Hogan's quick-witted, insightful and spot on treatise of airline career progression is a must-read for anyone yearning to progress efficiently and successfully through the competitive and unforgiving mine-field of the modern global piloting profession. With his years of far-reaching experience in a broad industry cross-section of flying jobs from Regional Airline Captain to expat Boeing 747-400 driver, along with over a decade and a half of experience on both sides of the interview table, Mr. Hogan is passing on a wealth of indispensable knowledge for anyone looking to improve their career. With 10 airlines, 7... More > type-ratings and countless interviews (good and bad) under my own belt, I found myself wishing this book had been at my side along the journey. Those of us who've made it to the top of the profession, often several times, took decades to unlock the secrets Rick can impart to you in 234 pages. That it is an entertaining read is a bonus. Chalk this up on the "must have" list. Well done, Hogan-san. You are the Career Sensei we all need.< Less

It's very rare in aviation literature to find a work that is both informative and entertaining, but this book fits both those categories. I laughed at several of the interview accounts, and at the same time I found it very interesting to learn what is going on in the mind of the person conducting the interview. Unlike a lot of other books out there on the subject, it's clear the author is a pilot, an interviewer, and an interviewee, and I think it's those qualities that make this book and they way he writes easy to relate to. Highly recommend.

The title says it all! Rick uses his actual experience to pack this book with real world tips, and tested success strategies. Every pilot can start using this book immediately to advance their careers. This is far and above the best book I have ever read on the subject.
