Thrilling, that you cannot put down. Alwways looking to see what happenns in the next chapter. A great read for the holiday break or one to read at the beach.

Plenty of action and intrigue to capture the reader's interest. McGivern obviously did his research because the details about the lifestyle of Army Officer Daniel Archer are so precise. This adds a level of realism that makes the plot all the more believable. My only complaint was that it was too short. I got so caught up in the adventures of Colonel Archer I didn't want the book to end.

Just finished McGivern's second book on the partial destruction of Hoover Dam. The novel flowed seamlesly from The Oasis Plan, McGiverns first book while gathering together several new characters like Heather Sharpe and her family. Intriguing to me were the concepts of cities being built under existing military facilities in the western United State,as well as moving an uninterrupted supply of water from, of all places, Canada. Could it all be true? Could a man walk on the moon?

This is the second book I've read by Rick McGivern and I can't believe he hasn't been discovered by the big publishers. I really enjoyed the book. Good plot, good story, good characters. His style really reminds me of a cross between Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy. I hope he writes more. I will definitely buy anything he writes.
