The Umbrian Consul is the first in a comic trilogy with an impending dark side. We follow Mandrake though his journey of misunderstandings begining in the small rural town of Puta in Umbria, central Italy. Praise for The Umbrian Consul and the Author: “I couldn’t keep it down”. Paul Pearson. Author, rock legend, restauranteur, bon viveur etc. “I have little to say concerning the literary merits or otherwise of ‘The Umbrian Consul’, because I have not and will not read it. But I will vouchsafe that its author is a debased petty criminal, who lies and cheats without compunction, has an unsightly mole on his thigh, is a habitual drunkard, has no sense of loyalty or honour, and what is more, is truly awful in bed.” Name withheld. Author of ‘My Times with a Bastard.’

"The Umbrian Consul" At last a novel that describes the dark desires of the human heart in terms of Newtonian physics. What is more the hero drives a Ford Consul as I myself do and so do all of my friends. This book will be a wow at our annual Ford Consul picnic. Everyone is welcome just bring a hamper and your pride and joy. The colour of mine is Carribian Sand. Perhaps we could have a get together in Puta next year. What do you say members. Pasta Lavista!

"The Umbrian Consulate" Fortunately, I have never met Duff-Scott, but I have spotted him on occasion lurking amongst the fashionable set of Puta - they know who they are. I have however, read this thinly disguised assassination of my town, close friends and life style. It is one of life’s great mysteries and I am not talking about the plot, as to how a person, so short in stature has become an icon for the local glitterati - they know who they are. I can thoroughly recommend buying 2 copies of this tome, as it is the ideal platform on which to place your sky digibox. I have personally never been invited to the Ford Consul picnic. A Fan.
