"Oh, the Irony! " I have some friends who bought a condo down in Baja Norte. They scraped money together to buy their own slice of heaven on the waterfront, just south of San Diego. They were told how secure their investment was because the developer was the head of the developers association and had a long history of developments in Cabo, Cancun, etc. In a nutshell, they believed the American realtors that their investment was safe and the project would move forward successfully. As it turns out that was not the case. It wasn't until my friends pretty much lost everything that they learned the project was far from safe and the development never would happened, regardless of the down swing in the economy. Worse still, my friends found out that the realtors were keenly aware that the developer's claims of prolific experience were exagerated. In fact, they worked on a previous development with him that never came to fruition either. In other words, despite knowing the track... You know, not the kind of people you'd want advising you on buying real estate. So what happened to the realtors? It looks like they just wrote a book. S.H.< Less
