Robert Edgar Hardy was many things during his tumultuous life including fatherless boy, a soldier during World War 2, an aerospace engineer, raging alcoholic and an inmate at a hospital for the criminally insane. He was a lover, husband, father and troubled man who suffered from Manic Depression for most of his adult life. "Confessions of a Bipolar Poet" is a fascinating collection of poems by a man who chronicled his deepest feelings during different stages of mental health. He was an anachronistic individual who tried to live a normal suburban life but eventually succumbed to a tortured existence of extreme behavioral problems and self medication.

As I knew the man personally, this work was able to let me look through the "smoked windows" of his soul and perhaps forgive and understand for the first time...... Excellent work Sir Phillip!
