This is the first of three volumes containing genealogical records for the family of John Lewis and his wife Elizabeth Sams, who lived on the border of Henry County, Virginia and Rockingham County, North Carolina, during the period 1783 to about 1850. Volume 1 contains introductory materials, including the full Table of Contents, the John and Elizabeth Lewis family group information including the discussion of important source records, the master index to names included in all three volumes and detail records of the descendants of 1) John Lewis Jr. and his wife, Sarah Lewis; and 2) Deveroux Marquis “Demarcus” Lewis and his wife, Arrenia Clifton.
